Air Traffic Controllers Union GdF announced the ongoing strike at Frankfurt Airport, to continue until Friday, 24 February 2012, 11 pm (German local time).

Despite the strike action Lufthansa expects to operate all long haul flights this week as scheduled. Lufthansa was forced to cancel a total of 80 round trips (domestic and European services) on Tuesday. The number of cancelled flights today as well as yesterday is lower compared to last Friday. This proves that measures taken by Lufthansa and Fraport to limit the impact of strike actions on flight operations in Frankfurt are working out. Lufthansa will publish the impact on flight operations for tomorrow, Wednesday, February 22nd, and the following days on its website lufthansa.com as soon as possible in order to provide a stable flight schedule and planning reliability for its passengers, as we have done over the past few days.

We urge our passengers who are planning to fly from or to Frankfurt this week to check the status of their booking prior to departure at lufthansa.com „Current travel information“. A list of all flights that have been cancelled so far is available on http://f.lh.com/ZwET. We will inform affected Lufthansa passengers who entered their mobile phone number in their online customer profile, about future cancellations actively via SMS. Affected passengers can refund or rebook flights which were cancelled due to the strike free of charge.
